The Design/Build Process – the Best Choice for your Portland Remodel Project
Relax. Remodel.
A remodel is a significant investment of your emotional energy, money, and time. Home remodels always carry anxiety. We understand your worries, we’ve taken care to ensure that your experience during the process is as pleasant as your newly remodeled home.
The Design/Build Advantage
Incorporating our experience since 1992 , we created the design/build Square Deal “No Fear” Remodeling Process. Design/build means just what it says. We design the project with you and build it for you. By combining design, budget estimation, and construction into one seamless process, we can offer you the best value for your money. Perhaps even more importantly, as design/builders we oversee the entire remodeling process, from the initial design phase to the “final punch list”, ensuring control over quality, budget, and time.
“No fear” means what it says, too. When you use Square Deal, you don’t have to worry. By offering a high level of upfront planning combined with excellent communication, we know all of your needs before construction. We communicate with you clearly and frequently throughout the entire process, answering questions and even helping you visualize results through the use of the latest design technology. We want you to understand the process and the progress from beginning to end.
The Square Deal “No Fear” Remodeling Process
Phase One – Initial Meeting
This no-cost, no-obligation meeting helps us to understand your needs, including the scope of the project, timeline and budget. We ask that that all those involved in the decision attend this one-hour meeting (best held at the project site), so that all of us can decide if the project is feasible and a good fit.
Phase Two – Project Design/Scope and Budget Development
In Phase Two, we take the time to fully understand your vision, then translate it into specific plans and a construction budget. During this phase, a highly experienced designer/estimator works with you to develop a design concept that fulfills your vision and meets your budget. This requires a significant amount of work, so we ask you to commit to a Design/Project Development Agreement. Though we charge a fee to create the plan, we’ll provide you with one copy, and you do not need to commit to construction until you decide to move to Phase Three.
Phase Three – Construction
Time to see your vision turn into reality. To keep you apprised of the project’s progress, we schedule with you a pre-construction meeting with the designer/estimator and the SDR project manager, as well as weekly progress meetings with your designer/estimator. You’ll receive a written project schedule that’s also shared with any others involved. We ask that you make scheduled payments based on the progress of the project so that we can purchase needed construction materials.
Two Year Warranty!
Once the project is fully completed, SDR will warrant all details of the project for a full 2 year period, and will contact you after 6 months and 12 months for quality assurance follow-up.
