Where We Work & What We Do
As a member of our team, you’ll be working locally in the Portland and Vancouver area on remodeling jobs and collaborating with some of the best designers and craftsmen in the PNW.
Day-to-day activities depend on the position. Our designers work directly with homeowners to create beautiful, custom designs and estimates that suit their specific homes, lifestyles, and budgets. Carpenters work collaboratively on job sites throughout the Portland/Vancouver area on demo, framing, window/door installation, and more, while our finish carpenters install cabinets, interior trim, and other fine woodworking details on our projects.

Job Description
Hello! Square Deal Remodeling is a design-build residential remodeling company that has been in business in Portland for over 30 years specializing in residential kitchens, baths, basements, additions and other projects. We are looking for candidates that want to join our remodeling team and continue our tradition of high quality remodeling services for our clients. If you want to work with people who respect and value the profession of carpentry, we want to hear from you.
The Carpenter is responsible for building and maintaining remodeling projects including kitchens, baths, basements, and outdoor areas. The Carpenter installs dust and surface protection materials at the beginning of the project and proceeds with demo and/or un-installation of the space. Further duties can include framing of walls and floors, stairs, and installation of structural beams and footings, and installation of doors, windows and siding.
The Carpenter interacts with homeowners, sub-contractors and building officials during the course of construction to ensure proper communication and to keep the project on schedule. The Carpenter may also engage in drywall repair, minor mechanical work, subfloor installation, hauling or moving of cabinets, lumber and construction debris, and general job site upkeep.
Responsibilities include:
- Demo of kitchens and baths
- Framing of walls/floors/stairs
- Installing headers, beams and footings
- Sheathing/siding, exterior trim
- Cabinetry and interior trim
- Minor sheetrock repair
- Jobsite maintenance
- Interaction with Inspectors and Homeowners
